Qaradawi and the Sunni clerics and Awa Province in favor of al-Azhar for Dialogue with the Vatican

Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi endorsed the President of the International Union for Muslim Scholars, the decision-Azhar's Islamic Research Academy to freeze the dialogue with the Vatican, in response to comments, Benedict XVI, Pope of the Vatican, where he was Islam negatively.

He said Sheikh Al-Qaradawi:''Al-Azhar wait so much correct the Vatican's point of view, but the Pope of the Vatican, arrogant, and designed to his comments provoked this, but went no further than this when incited Christians in the Middle East strife, and seek protection foreign to them, which is an interference in the affairs of States and peoples without the right''.
The President of the International Union for Muslim Scholars, according to the MEMRI site''Diary''Islam, that the International Union for Muslim Scholars made a decision to boycott the Vatican since the beginning of conversations the Pope has been deliberately insulting Islam.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb Al-Azhar Sheikh has said that the decision of the Islamic Research Academy to freeze the dialogue with the Vatican came in the light of Al-Azhar does not receive clarification on the statements of the Pope Benedict XVI applied for protection for Christians in the East and Egypt, which upset Egypt, Al-Azhar.
Dr. Yusuf al-Qaradawi in addition to 20 scientists from leading Sunni scholars in the Islamic world, and all members of the World Association of the graduates of Al-Azhar, issued a statement today, Al-Azhar appreciate the decision to freeze the dialogue with the Vatican.
The start of the statement as follows:''that gathered in Rehab Al-Azhar Al-Sharif on the occasion of the Forum Preparatory Meeting for the World Conference VI of the graduates of Al-Azhar affirm their support for the position of Grand Imam of Al-Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh Al-Azhar in freezing dialogue with the Vatican, on the basis of repeated abuses of the Pope of Islam and the Prophet of Islam Prophet Allah be upon him, and his request to intervene in the affairs of Islamic countries, whether to change the laws without regard to the privacy of culture and civilization of the Islamic countries, or seek protection for a vital component of the citizens of these countries, and that these attitudes are all cast a shadow on the effectiveness of dialogue with the Catholic Church, although it could spread for many years .
